Abo & Eli, the modern cave people (crochet)
Published August 14th, 2008 in amigurumi dolls, amigurumi patterns. This theme is all about ME!
Lately, the topic with friends and family have been revolving around the fact that I rarely or even barely stepped out of my house, not even to the common corridor! My highest record of staying in-house (completely) would probably be around 2-2.5mths.
Friends have been calling me ‘mountain-tortoise’ (direct translation from Chinese, mainly to describe someone who is ignorant of things around, no up-to-date); some think that I hate people; my mum and sister think I am autistic (oh well, that was a long time story, they said that since I was a small child) etc..
Just when the topic gets pretty much discussed, I received an email from Lynda (LOF) with an opening sentence of ‘cavewoman’! hahaha.. I can’t remember how this topic started, vaguely, I must have mentioned to her that I don’t go out much, and either she or myself used the cavewoman phrase.
Almost immediately, the inspiration sparked off with a theme design of cave people. I was hesitating, and Cindy (Starrydesigns) encouraged that I should just proceed since the inspiration had come.
I am indeed a modern cavewoman, I accomplish almost anything from home, with the generous help from the caveman - Mike, of course. He helps to run some errands, bring my packages to the post office everyday, buy dinner etc, while I work in the comfort of my cavey room.
I will always try to design happy dolls, Eli is a contented cavewoman who does most of the stuffs at home; while Abo is out daily to hunt for food? LOL..
Since it’s all about me, I have Eli dressed in my favorite orange color. I planned to make a bushy hair for Abo, but I really hate messy hair, so I have Abo’s hair tied back. Mike was laughing really loud when he saw Abo last night.
The cave people will hit our webstore soon!
