The three puppytiers!
Published June 6th, 2008 in amigurumi dolls, amigurumi patterns. Can you tell the similarity? Cyndi (who is probably my no. 1 Singapore individual fan) has chosen a very handsome color combination for her Greyho puppy. It turns out that her Greyho looks really macho and handsome, doesn’t he? She picked the color using the Uniquely Cyndi’s method (see, she even has her own method named after her, that’s the benefit of being the #1 fan) by browsing through my flickr photostacks and picked from various existing combination.
I worked the whole day on these 3 ‘puppytiers’ and by the time I finished them, it was already dark, although I took the photos in the light tent, the light distribution is still the best ideal light shine, since I only have one light shining through one direction. The light still hits on the head of Greyho quite harshly.
With different colors, each puppy seems to have a completely different personality. Take Cyndi’s puppy for example, he looks brave and macho, the puppy on the left looks innocent and probably humble; while the puppy on the right has the most demure and ladylike expression..
This puppy is specially made for a special mum. She is the mother of my former boyfriend, but has been in touch with me over the 10 over years since. She adores me like her own daughter, and I respect her like my own mother. It’s a kind of unique relationship between us, that doesn’t end just because I didn’t become her daughter-in-law. She has been in my thoughts quite a fair bit lately, and I have not met up with her since.. errr.. before I was married, gosh, it must have been at least 2-3 years! She calls me on the phone once in a while though. The family keeps a Shih-Tze puppy named ‘Ah Boy’, so I am making this little puppy for her, just to let her know she has been missed.
Now, I really didn’t plan to make the additional puppies, I really need to finish up orders. What can I say, some friends are just too valuable to neglect (although, I have been neglecting them..LOL.. but I have them in the thoughts, you see.. of course they are not excuses!). I have this best friend in Secondary school named Jessie. I am not sure if you want to know the long story behind this friendship. To cut the story short, Jessie has a distant relative, Joycez, who was my colleague, good friend, and now my sister-in-law. It was however not through Jessie that I knew Joycez, yet the 3 of us worked together before. Anyhow, that’s the little twist, oh, so you know, I married Joycez’s brother?
That’s really not important. The important thing is that Jessie’s birthday is just round the corner, and she has been complaining to Joycez, who lives one floor above where Jessie used to live (her mum still lives there, she moved out when she got married) that I have gone MIA. I bet both of them must have gossiped behind my back! I always remember Jessie’s birthday, she was born on 17 June, while I was born in 17 Oct, same year.
Hopefully, when she receives this little smiley puppy, she will at least give some points to this old friend. LOL.. (puppy of bribery?)
