Loving Tortoises for a Special Friend

These little tortoises are specially made for a very special friend. Nope, they are not for sale.

In case you want to know, these are the materials used:
1. Yarns - DMC Senso wool cotton; DMC Senso Harlequin
2. Eyes - 9mm craft eyes - also known as safety eyes
3. Flower button from thrift shop

My first attempt with safety eyes, all other craft eyes I had used before were sewn on eyes, whereby there is a hole in at the shank. It’s easy to use safety eyes too though, I think I would prefer metal washer though. The only adjustment I had made in the making process is that I had to insert the safety eyes before I decrease stitches to small opening, that means I started to insert the eyes when I reached round 9.

The eyes supplies store is closed till early Jan 08, so I am not sure if I am ordering from that store, when they finally reply to my email, I may just get more safety eyes in variations and the future dolls may just be using safety eyes.
