Auspicious boy – Cai Cai, is designed in celebration of the Lunar New Year. 'Cai' in Chinese means wealth; whereas auspicious
girl – Xi Xi, (read as ‘see’ with a question tone) in Chinese means joy, happiness.
The couple holds the auspicious items in their hands; two mandarin oranges which would be presented to
the hosts of the house during home-visiting, the oranges are usually
accompanied with verbal auspicious greetings; red packet containing cash which is distributed by the married adult to the unmarried during this festive season.
Cai Cai stands at approximately 7.5cm (2.95”) tall, including his cap; Xi Xi stands at approximately 6.5-7cm (2.5-2.75”) tall.
